Zwischenzeitlich
Grieschier Viertel in Cologne is so called because of the consider amount of Greek immigrants which used to live in this region during the years of the German reconstruction after Second World War. One of the attractions of this area was the Greek Markt and the popular Parties. Today this area belongs to one of most interesting and alive sites in Cologne with its libraries, museums, cafes and small shops still preserving the historical marks from the Rome Period. By observing the architecture of this area, one can notice the transformation that this city has been suffering along the years.
It was on the marks left by the time that I found inspiration to create the social choreography Zwischenzeitlich. The tour starts in the Joest-Rausch Museum and continues through the Grieschier Viertel passing by the Rome Wall and the Schlatengasse (confirm the information). The tour is an individual experience; each person receives a guide book with instructions which will conduces to a jouney between the historical layers of this area. Mixing phantasy, facts, present and past, Zwischenzeitlich is an interactive choreography where the audience creates your own piece trough the interaction with its guide book.
Zwischenzeitlich was part of the exhibition Social Movement, created in association with the Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum and Centrum for Contemporary Dance.
